We Are Always Changing

A colleague of mine shared Dan Gilbert’s TED talk about our future selves with me recently. In it, Gilbert addresses the assumption that our lives change less and less as we age, that past a certain, mysterious point in our lives, things stabilize and settle down drastically.

And it turns out, according to his research, that yes, we do change less as we age.

BUT.

We change MORE, as we age, than we think we will. We anticipate less change in ourselves, but we continue to live different lives every year.

Watch his talk to be convinced: There’s always more, and it’s always different.
